Top 10 Chart
Well, I promised you that I will give you the top 10 charts
last Friday but I didn’t came through for you. But it’s never too late to bring
you the charts so here it is House Heads.
Starting at number 10 is Dj Mlungu – The Sax Song. This
track is the track that gave Dj Mlungu the breakthrough he wanted and Dj Cleo
saw the talent this guy has and featured him on his track “Zooma” which the sax
on Dj Mlungu’s track is Identical to the one on Cleo’s track.
Coming on number 09 is African Roots – Sax journey. Now
these guys need no introduction, they have been in the underground game for a
while now and they have played alongside big cats in the game. The sax on this
track stands out, it’s carefully played.
Our number 08 is a cat that is sure to take the house scene
and play it like the drums on this track. Am talking about Kayladeep – against
the world. The track is carefully layed back with some chants on the back ground
that gives you that ritual feel.
Number 07 – Sexture takes the number 7 spot with his remix
of Dj Spin 658 feat, Blonk - World Pressure (Sexture Mix). This Track is one of
the tracks that show’s how far Sexture has come since the beginning of his
producing career.
NostiQsoul with his track “One of those Daze is a classic on
its own. This track sets the bar for NostiQsoul as he has to release something
better than the previous because now he is being watched by the underground
world. This is our number 6 track of the week.
Ab Vryrus – African Horizon (Danny Bois Sunset Mix) takes us
to number 5 on the charts. This track gives you that real sunset feel, it makes
you think that you chilling in the sunset and takes your mind to dream land
.
Our Number 4 is a remix by AV Beats, a track by Mafikizolo
feat. Uhuru – Khona. AV Beats give this dance tune a relaxed, lounge feel to
it. This produce is making moves underground that will see him achieve his
goals.
Our number 3 is The Antidotes Feat. Khanyile Maziya – Soul in
Me (Objektives Assassin Mix). This remix by the Objektives is one of the remix
you can find by the Objectives.
Number 2 goes to Dj Kweila with his track called “Itoni”.
This track is sure to be a banger this December and you will hear it in most
parts of South Africa. Watch out for this young producer who is fast becoming a
complete producer.
Our Number 1 goes to Manfee with Soul Recovery. If you want
to get lost in a world of your own then this track is your key to your
fairyland. Manfee done a great job with the track and it has become a classic

The Future is bright for South Africa
Hello house heads, am very sorry for not being able to blog on Tuesday. The problem is that I had flu so I couldn’t go to school and that resulted in me not being able to blog. Today lest talk about you, who is your favorite underground house producer in South Africa and do you think that producer is ready to release a full length album or has what it takes to make it big in the house music universe? Leave a comment and tell me and I also have a few producers that I think have what it takes to release a full length album and some that have what it takes to make it big in future… …

2012 Rise To Fame
Today let’s put the building of a Record Label aside and talk about SA House producers who broke into the scene last year... ...
Brazo Wa African – Real name Keletso Manyaka, he was born and bred in Limpopo. He produces Deep-Tribal and soulful house music. He is not only a producer but also a renowned club Dj and you can catch his mix on Capricorn FM every Sunday at 21H30. He is also a student at the University of Limpopo studding Computer Science. This guy wowed the house community with his hit song “African Sax” last year. Am pretty sure he also didn’t expect to receive so much love and his track to be a club and radio banger. All thanks to Dj Nana who compiled the song to his compilation album Nightology Vol.2 by Dj Nana. The track has a sax that is simple but very catchy to the listener. The track went on to be remixed by one of the best producers to come out of Limpopo who goes by the name Da Capo. Famous for his “touch”, he touched the song and made a good remix. Da Capo is not the only one who remixed Brazo’s track, his home boy and friend Chymamusique remixed the track. Out of all this remix’s none has made the original track weak.
Brazo didn’t stop there, he went on to release an album under House Afrika called house Afrika Sessions 3. It’s a 5 Disc Compilation and you can find Brazo’s album on Disc 2 with 12 tracks... ...
Uhuru – Is a group of house producers signed under Kalawa Jazmee and consist of Maphorisa, Dj Clap and Celimpilo. The trio burst to the house scene last year with their hit song “via Orlando remake”. They have worked with Dj Zinhle and produced a track called my name is, Lvovo’s track called Palesa and they didn’t stop there. The group remixed Swedish House Mafia – Don’t Worry Child which is fast becoming a must have for December. They have also remixed Louie Vega Feat. Johnny Dangerous – London Roots. We the fans are expecting another December hit this year and a full album from the group... ...

Part Two of Starting a Record Label... ...
Now that you have started your recorded label, it will be wise to be open minded about whom you want to sign on your record label and you must not have an ego and say that you a record label owner what you say stands and no one can tell you how to do things. It helps to be opening minded and also listen to other peoples advice as they can help grow your company... ...
Once you have sorted that out, it’s time to build your reputation and you can do that by starting a website. Your website should be professional because it will be your C.V and people who visit your website should be hooked into visiting again. Your website should be about your Labels history, your artist that you have signed, the people you have worked with, artist profile, contact details and a logo... ...
Once those things are done, it’s time to go out there and make connection with relevant people. There are many ways that you can scout for talent. Watch programs like SA Idols and approach those artists that didn’t make it but are good. Pitch your vision of your company and convince them to sign for you. Visit underground music website and look for producers that don’t belong to a label and sign them. Trust me, it’s wise to have an in-house producer who can producer for your artist then going out and pay another producer from another label. You will be also growing the reputation of you in-house producer. Go to websites like kasi mp3, there are a lot of unsigned producers there who are good and have potential in making it big... ...
Once you have signed those future stars, sit down with them and work out how to release their music, when and how. My advice for you will be to release digitally first than going for the CD route. It’s less expensive to release digitally and you will be growing the reputation of your artist. Release short albums like EP maybe four times a year to keep the people talking about your artists. Whatever you release to the people, make sure it’s of good quality and up to stranded. If you release music that is not good quality than people will hesitate to buy your music again... ...
Don’t forget to release promotion tracks that will be free because those tracks can create hype for the album... ...
Those are the basic things you need to do when you starting a record label and they are more things that you have to do that I didn’t cover. It’s a big and hard job staring a record label but it will be worth it in the end if you are determined to work hard for your goals... ...
Good luck!!!

How to start a Record Label... ...
Starting a record label is not as easy as it sounds, there is a lot of work that needs to be done and your time needs to be devoted to the success of pulling it off the ground. When you want to start a Label you have to be ready for the challenges that will come your way. You will be emotionally and finically challenged in that field so you have to prepare yourself very well to pass those challenges.
Starting a Record Label is like starting a business, it may be for the love of music to you or the need of helping artist achieve their goals, whatever your motive is you have to treat it like a business... ...
The first thing you need to do when you starting a Record Label you have to have a business plan to guide you. The reason for this is that you will have to present your business to potential investors. Once you have drafted your plan than you have to think of the name of your business and that name needs to be a well thought and professional name that will not degrade your business. Once you have chosen the name be prepared to use that name for a long time because when you keep changing names you will be confusing the people that are following you. After you have decided on a name than take the next step by registering the business at the relevant place in your town... ...
These are the things you should know when you are registering your Company... ...
• It will cost you about R875,00 to start a company owned by more than three people and about R628,00 if you are less than three people... ...
• If there will be shareholders than you must have a shareholders certificate
It can take up to three months for the registering process to be complete... ...
Once that has been completed than you will have to put your words into action and that’s when the hard work will be needed... ...
A lawyer will be needed to handle legal side like contracts for the artist’s. But if you starting small you can grow up the contract’s yourself which will be a standard contract... ...
This will get you thinking for the rest of the week, I will give you more information about running a Record Company next week Tuesday on the 1st of April... ...

The weekend is starting today. When you go out and play at your gigz be safe and make sure that you set the floor on fire. Play those underground tracks and promote local house. Quote of the day is the famous "Jack's House". Have a great weekend House Heads and kill those sets if you will be in the booth, and murder those tracks if you will be at studio... ...
http://hyperreal.org/raves/spirit/vibe/JacksHouse.html
In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove.
And from this groove came the groove of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,
"Let there be HOUSE!"
and house music was born.
"I am, you see,
I am
the creator, and this is my house!
And, in my house there is ONLY house music.
But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!"
And, you see, no one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all.
You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house.
House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body.
And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music.
And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper.
And, in this house, the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you who might wonder,
"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"
Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.
Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house.
You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don't make a difference in OUR House.
And this is fresh.

Underground House
Many people don’t know much about underground house but that’s where it all starts before you hear it on the radio. Many house artists had to prove themselves underground before being big producers and Dj’z they are today. Underground is like an Academy where you start your trade and where you are discovered by Record labels.
When I talk about underground house I talk about the tracks that you hear in clubs, that you can only get it by downloading the tracks not the tracks on radio. Because of that, the underground scene is different than the commercial scene. The commercial scene is all about making a living for yourself, bringing big profits for your Record Company that you are signed at. Where you in underground house music, it’s for the passion of producing house music and making a name for yourself. Yes you may need a Record Label to release your tracks digitally but that does not mean it’s a train smash if you don’t belong to a Record Label. You can also start your own Record Label Company and release your tracks. Take Dj Cleo for an example, he started his own Record Company while he was still underground producing tracks for big Dj’z like Dj Fresh. His Company went on to be a big Company today and has signed big name artist like Mzee, QT etc. What am trying to say is that in underground music, not all doors are closed at your face, there is always a way around the problem.
In the underground scene you can expect to find top quality music that you would expect to find in store. Because of the rise of the underground scene there had to be online stores that gives people the access to buy the music. Online stores like Traxsource, Beatport, Digital House Music, soundcloud and Juno to name a few. Just like any other shops they have to also make profit so they take a potion of you sales and you have to be a registered (Company) in order to utilize the service offered by the stores. Just in case you think the shops will rip you of, they won’t do that. These Stores are reliable and you can sell your music as far as the UK. Some top producers are still releasing their music online but not Albums, they release short vision of an album called EP. An example of a top Dj/producer who also releases online EP’s is Eltonnick and his latest EP was called Last Call EP released this year 3 April 2013.
Competition at underground is tough and it will take a lot of hard work, perseverance marketing and networking to achieve your goals. Don’t expect results soon, wait for your time and push as hard as you can. It won’t be easy, trust me, but things that you work hard for them are very fruitful then the things that came your way easy. More than 500 000 producers in South Africa are fighting for that dream you fighting for so you have to hustle and start at you Kasi and give other Djz your tracks so that they can play them. Sleepless nights will be part off your life, negative feedback sucks but it’s your encouragement to success.
We all have to start somewhere in life and when you want to be a top house producer, underground is your first home.
